 We meet in the Car Park at the top of Sulham Hill - Map Reference = SU 648 745
 The course could be wet, muddy and slippery and as a lot of it is in Sulham Woods there are tree roots standing proud of the surface, SO PLEASE TAKE CARE.
 Although every effort has been made to make the course as safe as possible, please note  THAT YOU TAKE PART AT YOUR OWN RISK

Results from Arthur for HandicapNo 5 on 3rd January

When I am out in the woods at some horrible hour on a Sunday morning laying trails of flour in sub zero temperatures, slipping and sliding on ice and tramping through mud, I do wonder sometimes if anybody will turn up, or stay in nice warm beds.

Many thanks to all those who came out today. When the Handicap got under way the temperature, according to my phone, was MINUS 3 in the shade, but a little warmer in the sun.

It was a very clear and sunny day with only a slight breeze across the open fields.

Conditions underfoot ranged from very icy and slippery, through mud in the more sheltered areas, to some almost perfect running.

First of all congratulations to Jane Davies, who must have been on skates, as she not only improved her PB by 2:41, but also now holds the record for the new course. The new course had it first outing at the beginning of last season (08-09), beating the previous time by 8 seconds.

Katy Warren and Adrian Lee turned up late, not because they found it hard to leave the warm, but, in preparation for the 50 mile Thames Run, decided to do a 13 mile warm up. Hence the slower times. After they finished they still had to run to their homes. They were accompanied by Lucy who looked in far better shape. Mind you Lucy does have four legs !
