Reading Joggers is a small and friendly running club, formed many years ago, with about 50 active members.

We normally meet from 7 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the Meadway Sports Centre in Conwy Close, Tilehurst, ready to start our runs about 7.15 p.m  except the first Tuesday in the month when we meet in the Prospect Park central Car Park , entrance off Liebenrood Road  ready to go at 7:20 pm sharp. After the run we meet in the Mansion House for a social.

Our evening runs last about 45 minutes and cover about 4-5 miles. Of course, some groups go faster! In summer, we run woodland trails and along river banks, but on darker evenings, we use the local well-lit footpaths. Throughout the year, we offer pleasant running to anyone who prefers not to train alone.

Running keeps us fit, but there's no pressure from us to improve! It's sheer enjoyment that keeps us going! Our runners often enter events, both local to Reading and further afield, from fun runs to marathons. The club runs summer and winter Handicaps, where we try ourselves out over a regular course. Some members take part in Cross-country adventure races such as the Saunders Lakeland Mountain Marathon.

The club is affiliated to  England Athletics, so your annual subscription (£15 for April 2009) offers reduced cost of entry to many running events.
